The short version
The Design Toolkit extension runs inside your browser. It has no account, uses no analytics and never sends the pages you inspect anywhere. If you buy a lifetime license, Polar handles the payment, and the extension checks your license key with Polar.
What the extension accesses
- The page you inspect. To show sizes, styles, colors and animations, the extension reads the page you have open, and only after you click its icon or press one of its shortcuts: until then it has no access to the site. That information stays on your device.
- Downloads. Images, SVGs and videos are saved only when you press Download. The first time, your browser asks you to allow Design Toolkit to save files.
- Clipboard. Text is copied only when you press a copy button.
- Responsive mode. While responsive mode is open, the extension lets the current tab show pages inside its preview frames. The rule applies to that tab only and is removed when you close the preview.
- Stylesheets on other servers. Some sites keep their CSS on another server. If you copy a section as code on such a site, the toolkit offers to read those files. Your browser asks you to allow it for that one server. If you agree, the extension downloads those style files itself, without cookies, to rebuild the section's breakpoints, hover states and fonts. They are used on your device and sent nowhere.
- Pictures it can't read. A canvas that draws pictures from other sites can't be read by the page. For its preview or its color palette, the extension takes a picture of the visible tab, crops it to that canvas on your device and uses it there. The picture is never saved or sent.
- Settings. A few choices (the side panel width, the code format and the color tool you used last) are saved in the extension's own storage on your device, not in the pages you visit.
Buying a license
- Payments. Purchases are processed by Polar Software, Inc., our merchant of record. Polar collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details to complete the order, under Polar's privacy policy. We never see your full card details.
- Order details. We receive your email address and order information from Polar, and use them only to deliver your license, answer support requests and handle refunds.
- License check. When you activate Design Toolkit, the extension sends your license key and a name for this browser (for example "Design Toolkit on Chrome (Windows)", so you can tell your activations apart) to Polar to confirm the key is valid. About once a day it asks Polar again whether the key is still active. It sends nothing else, and never anything about the pages you visit.
- Trial and license on your device. The date your 7-day trial started and your license key are saved in the extension's storage on your device. The trial date is also kept in this website's storage in your browser, so removing and adding the extension again continues the same trial. On designtoolkit.online, the extension tells the page whether your trial is still running and whether you already own a license, so the page can show the right thing, and on the thank-you page it receives your new license key to activate it.
Visitor statistics on this website
This website counts visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you: it records the page you open, the site that sent you, and your browser, device type, operating system and country. Page addresses are recorded without anything after the question mark, so order details are never included.
We also use PostHog to count page views and a handful of named events — which button was pressed, whether the extension is installed in your browser, whether a license was activated, and the country the visit comes from (so prices can be shown in your currency). It is set up without cookies and without session recording, it doesn't follow you between visits, page addresses are sent without anything after the question mark, and no name, email address or license key is ever sent to it. The Design Toolkit extension itself has no analytics.
What we never do
We do not sell, share or transfer data, we do not track browsing, and we do not use data for advertising or credit decisions.
